Copper Rainbow's Story
Unique boho sea glass jewellery for free spirits. Celebrate your individuality while staying connected to nature's wild magic on the Northern Irish Coast!
Welcome...
I'm Ria, the sea glass jewellery designer behind Copper Rainbow, named after Coppertop, my red-headed butterfly loving rainbow baby girl (also chief sea glass hunter!).I specialise in creating unique boho sea glass jewellery pieces for nature loving free spirits who feel the call of the ocean.
I’ve always been creatively inspired by nature. With both artists and farmers in my family, I grew up immersed in nature and art. Taught from a young age to notice the beauty and small details in everything, to fully appreciate the wonder of the outdoors.
As a teenager I used jewellery to express my identity. Layering colourful necklaces, beaded bracelet stacks and dangly earrings to say, this is me - an artistic, free spirited soul. At 17, I visited a craft village in the west of Ireland where I was enchanted by the idea of getting to work creatively for a living, especially by the sea! That artist’s haven left a lifelong impression on me.
Fascinated by the ocean, I thought I would some day be a marine biologist. Naturally now I spend a lot of time on beaches with my daughter. When Coppertop was 3, we found our first piece of sea glass and I was hooked! Discarded glass, tumbled by the ocean for decades, leaving frosted jewels on the sand ready to be discovered… magical. While researching, I saw sea glass jewellery on Pinterest and suddenly everything fell into place. This was it! I could combine my creativity, love of unique boho jewellery, sea glass and the nature of the local shoreline that is so close to my heart.

I felt I had slightly lost my identity when I became a mum. I wanted affordable yet meaningful jewellery that connected me to nature and the ocean, while reflecting MY style, boosting my confidence, reminding me who I am and who I want to be. For it to softly say ‘this is me’. To help bring me back to myself and add whimsical, sparkly fun to my daily casual, comfy outfits. So I started turning my beach treasures into unique boho sea glass jewellery.
Selling my creations meant as a single parent, I could work flexibly while raising my daughter, allowing me to be there for Coppertop as much as possible as she’s grown up. Having worked in retail management for many years while dreaming of running my own creative business, hearing that first ‘cha-ching’ 10 years ago made me SO choked up. I’d found my true path.
It brings me SO much joy to share my passion for nature and sea glass, connecting with so many amazing women all over the world. I can’t wait to send my jewellery to even more countriesI
Most days you'll find me creating at my work bench with the fields and hedgerows just outside my window, or walking along the shore listening to the waves with the salty breeze in my face as I search the sand for more ocean treasures…
Our frosted, ocean tumbled glass is found on the beaches of the Northern Irish Coast , mainly the famously stunning Glens Of Antrim, an area that has felt magical for me since I was a child, inspiring my tagline, 'Where the forest meets the sea' . Now I get to share that magic with Coppertop on our sea glass hunting adventures.
By keeping each beach location’s glass separate, my map cards with direct video QR links in each order, mean you can immediately see and connect with ‘your’ beach where your glass was found! Each piece of sea glass is unique and each design is inspired by the local Northern Irish landscape so you can celebrate your individuality while staying connected to the ocean wherever you go. A meaningful story, personal handwritten thank you notes and beautiful packaging makes Copper Rainbow creations perfect thoughtful gifts for nature lovers everywhere.
Be a part of Copper Rainbow’s story where the forest meets the sea and carry your own unique piece of the Irish Sea with you always…
